Lakshadweep in Misery, Patel Go Back

For a while, the whole social media and walls are constantly recurring a far-reaching protest against the newly appointed 35th administrator, Praful K. Patel in Lakshadweep as the figure of puppet of saffron politics. Mr. Praful Patel, a close companion of Modiji, was the former BJP leader in Gujarath legislative assembly and the culprit of Saharavudeen fake operation with Amit Shah. 

In the pandemic crisis, Lakshadweep was only one territory free from Covid cases in India until the last year. But, recently, In case of open approach SOP( Standard operation procedure) with Covid protocol under the Patel, the whole 36 Islands were seized with rapid spread of positive rate of test possibilities. In spite of the initial waves of Covid spread, Patel instantly imposed the beef ban and took action against the slaughter of cows, intending not only to fan the flames of the communal sparks, but also to destroy its traditional cultural motives, that is rooted in Islamic ideology, at one slap.

Communal facts

The natives of the island once again poisoned with communal ideas under the veil of some hidden agendas. Most of the protesters are alleged the reformations in permission of alcohol into whole Islands as a part of tourism development, the restriction of votes to the families who possess two more sons in public election, and the imposing of Goondas Act that probably lead to the communal riots in public and other social spheres. 

Fishing, the most resourced dependence of Island natives, was partially collapsed in case of assumed crimes and offences in coastal areas. For the last two months, the legislature accused several fishermen over the false registration boats with arms, ammunition and narcotics in Lakshadweep Sea. Beyond these brutalities, Indian Navy and coast Guard, in close coordination with Lakshadweep administration, conducted a swift operation over the coastal regions to recover the boats Sri Lanka in origin, which were carrying heroin, AK 47 and 1000 rounds of ammunition.  

Similarly in May 23, Sri Lanka authorities had given an alert to its Indian counterpart, of a boat allegedly carrying 15 Islamic State terrorists which has lately set off from Sri Lanka to Lakshadweep Island. According to Navy officers, a boat bearing false registration documents has been seized near Suheli Island.

Security forces

 The Island was a part of the Madras presidency under British Raj in accordance with the Indian independence Act 1947, enacted by the British Parliament. After the independence of India, the island was merged with Pakistan due to the overflow of Hindus to Madras Presidency, while it remained as a Muslim Majority territory. Under the governance of first home minister Patel, a ship of the Roy Indian Navy was sent to Island to hoist Indian national flag and ensure its integration. Henceforth, Lakshadweep islands declared its independence and stood as a union territory under the direct administration of Indian president.

Nowadays, the Island is under the structural organization of special police enforcement, under the supervision of inspector general of police. In case of the law, the administrator of Lakshadweep comes as the functional ex-officio as the inspector general of Lakshadweep police. The recent appointed administrator Praful K Patel is merely one additional charge person, not at all in case of law of Lakshadweep.

Goonda Act

 The term 'Goonda' is used in the Indian subcontinent for a hired criminal. Some of these laws permit harsh treatment such as giving the police the power of shooting them on sight. Many states of India have enacted special laws to deal with Goondas. The first Goondas Act enacted in Madya Pradesh, as an Act XLIX of 1950. Subsequently, it enacted in UP Act No.8 of 1971, in Rajastan Act No.14 of 1975, in Tamil Nadu, for prevention of dangerous activities of bootleggers, drug-offenders, forest-offenders, Goondas, immoral traffic offenders as an Act 14 of 1982..

It is clear that the Goonda Act in Lakshadweep must polarize the peaceful condition of the Island. I nail down that this implementation of an unnecessary act in such a peaceful territory is utterly a deliberate move of the government, in revenge to its overpopulation of the Muslims. There is a solid proof to my claim that the artificial responses of Central Govt. may be following to reform the Island with more Hindutva ideologies in largely Muslim populated areas, which are making more communal crisis with unnecessary reforms in Lakshadweep. 

The increasing rate of smuggling in both drugs and liquor seems to be pre-planned activities of Hindutva in Island to install more forces with number of narcotics media coverage. The newly appointed administrator had removed the NRC and CAA boards from the street. It mentions to change the Island as a whole with commit of Central Govt.

Liable protest

 As the citizens of India, we have to protest against this additional administrator appointment until he is overthrown by the president of India. In case of Island law, the appointment was an illegal movement as a special motive. Nowadays, the popular campaign and protest has taken more attention to the central government. Above all, we, Keralite, are responsible to protect them, to raise voice for them, to protest against these radical movements as they are our brothers, as a Muslim and a Malayali.
