Muhammed (PBUH): The Emancipator of Humanity

The prophet of Islam (PBUH), the perfect exemplar of peace and pride of the universe whose life was immaculate and whose character was unimpeachable, came to the world as a mercy for all mankind. Muhammed (PBUH) was indeed a messenger of peace and compassion. The beloved Prophet is the perfect creation of Allah and the ideal human for mankind.

قال الله تعالى : وما أرسلناك إلا رحمة للعالمين

‘And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a mercy to the worlds.’

It means that the apostleship of the holy prophet is indeed a blessing and mercy of Allah to the entire world. The holy prophet Muhammed (PBUH) was sent not only to a specific nation or group but he is the messenger to the whole of humanity of all times. This is the uniqueness of the holy prophet Muhammed (PBUH) that he was not only a great person in his time, but he is the messenger for all times, for all people of any race, colour, nationality and locality. He was a paradigm for the Arabs of the seventh century and is also an epitome for the living humanity and forthcoming generations.

He promulgated a comprehensive lifestyle, called Islam for humanity. It is peace and security in its literal meaning. It indicates that the holy prophet considered topmost significance to the harmony, and peace of the society. Prophet (PBUH) defined Muslim as one who offers salams (salutation of peace) to others whom they know or don’t know.

قال رسول الله صل الله عليه وسلم : أفشوا السلام بينكم على من عرفتم ومن لم تعرف

وعن عبد الله بن سلام (ر) أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال : أيها الناس أفشوا السلام وأطعموا الطعام وصلوا بالليل والناس نيام تدخلوا الجنة بسلام

عن أبي هريرة (ر) قال : قال رسول الله صل الله عليه وسلم : والذي نفسي بيده لا تدخلون الجنة حتى تؤمنوا ولا تؤمنوا حتى تحابوا, أولا أدلكم على شيء إذا فعلتموه تحاببتم, أفشوا السلام بينكم (رواه مسلم)

This statement of the prophet proves that he was the disseminator of peace and carried this message to all mankind. The prophet was dispatched to this world to promulgate peace everywhere in this world.

As mentioned in the Holy Quran, “For, [true] servants of the Most Gracious are [only] they who walk gently on the earth, and who, whenever the foolish address them, reply with [words of] peace“. Likewise, the prophet carried the principle of peace in his entire life.

When the famous poet of pagan Arabs wrote poetry that ridiculed Allah’s message and criticized Islam, the prophet simply and honestly maintained patience and prayed Allah to forgive him for his mistakes. All followers of the prophet got irritated towards the man, then he instructed all his followers to exercise patience to spread the message.

He preached religious ideologies all over his life and also remained steadfast with that by following those principles. The prophet instructed his followers that a Muslim should root out his hatred by showing compassion towards people and making them conscious Muslims should eliminate the aggressiveness by spreading peacefulness.

The Prophet settled down the various conflicts which aroused among the tribes of Madina by establishing a homogeneous community and generating a society where people from various ethnic origins and non-muslims were treated equally and allowed to practice their religion. This is the most practical step taken by the prophet to establish an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity among non-believers.

Our holy Prophet also formulated social peace by disseminating ideas like no one is superior to another in any possible way in front of God. There is no favour of an Arab over a foreigner, nor a foreigner over an Arab, and neither white skin over black skin nor black skin over white skin, except by righteousness.

Prophet handled his enemies by impartial approaches and preached that "the stupid man is the one who follows his desires then expects from Allah the fulfilment of his futile wishes". The prophet is the pioneer of peace and security in this world. He came to bring safety and security to the world.

In conclusion, Islam is entirely a religion of peace that guarantees the peace and security of society. The war strategy of the holy prophet is nothing but striving in the way of Allah against all internal or external desires which will rampage the peace, harmony, serenity, tranquillity and security of the society.
