The approval of the trio of - Norway, Spain, and Ireland- has considered Palestine a free nation. The stance has been promoted for the sake of the re-establishment of peace in Palestine. Aware of Israel’s warnings and protests, the countries agreed to approve Palestine as a free nation. This will indeed strengthen the Palestinian struggles for freedom. The “two nation” theory, which is put forward by the UN and international society, is the only promising solution to the Palestinian struggles, but, Israel didn't cooperate with this stance.
Nevertheless, the Zionist Jewish nation didn't consider the approval of those stances. Meanwhile, the proportion of the Jewish population was only 6% in 1917, while the British subdued Palestine, it increased up to 33% during 1918-1947 due to the excessive migration of Jews. The fluctuations in the population structure led to the protests in 1936 and 1939. In 1947, the issue reached the UN, and they put forward the proposal of dividing Palestine.
By the 181st resolution of the UN, 55% of Palestine's lands were distributed among the Jews. The residing Palestinians only had 45% of the lands. Apart from that, Jerusalem was proclaimed the international territory to be administered by the UN. It was unfair to divide the Palestine lands among the Jews. Even though, some brutal incidents also happened. In 1948, Israel came into existence.
Meanwhile, they captured agricultural lands, and houses and even made them leave their houses. About 750,000 people became victims of this operation. Although, they subdued 78% of Palestine through the operation “Nakhba”. Despite this, in the war of 1967, Palestinians were forced to leave their houses in some manner.
Israel divided Jerusalem into two parts and implemented regulations over them. West Jerusalem was controlled by Israel and the east remained as the major Palestinian region. In the war of 1967, Israel took control of East Jerusalem with the West Bank. Al Aqsa mosque belonged to east Jerusalem. Then, Palestine only had 28% of their land consisting of Gaza and the West Bank. However, it is under the invasion of Israel. In 1980, Israel declared East Jerusalem as its land by violating the UN resolution. The international society didn't approve the proposal of Israel due to the constant effort made by the Palestinian people. In 1993-95, the most significant treaty called “Oslo Accord” was made. According to the treaty, 18% of the land belonged to Palestine, 22% of the land under the joint control of two nations, and 60% of the land to Israel. This treaty was the most injustable in the history of Palestine and it gave legitimacy to Israel’s settler colonialism. Even though, Israel violated this treaty too. Palestinians were uprooted from their regions and they built migration centers.
In 1993, the migrational population was about 250,000, and in the previous year, it increased to 7 lakhs. Currently, Palestinians have to pass 140 checkpoints in a day for their job needs and even require the work permits of Israel. Likewise, after Hitler defeated Poland in WW1, the Jewish laborers had to pass checkpoints and He used them as low-wage workers by giving them work permits. Palestinians residing in Israel don't have similar rights enjoyed by the Jewish citizens. They can't pursue their profession in every field. Now they work in their ancestors’ agricultural lands and institutions under Jewish control. Similar operations like Nakhba are happening even today. They have implemented certain legal procedures and measures to empower the Jewish dominance. It is legal to harass the Palestinian prisoners. Although, Israel is a nation that handles various human rights violations. More than being a diplomatic center or having refugees from several countries, Palestine has to be established with the support of European countries.
Moreover, Palestinians have nothing but revenge and hate against Israel due to the genocides in Gaza and invasions for decades. Nevertheless, organizations like Hamas would support the “two nation” idea with the withdrawal of Israel from invaded regions. European countries must aim at this goal so that we can put an end to the migrations and relentless genocides.
