Returning home, the comfort of my parents' presence and home-cooked food was an immediate, needed break from college stress. After meeting friends, I awoke to my mother's routine. Later, at the beach, as she held my hand, I finally understood her relentless work maintains the calm sanctuary I call home.
When I returned home after my busy classes, a wave of gratitude and comfort washed over
me the moment I stepped inside. I had missed my mother’s warm smile and my father’s
thoughtful advice so much. As soon as I tasted the food, I realised how badly I needed this
break. I finally felt free from the rush of bells and the pressure of subjects.
I picked up my phone and messaged my friends about my arrival. Later, I went to the ground
and met my old classmates and friends. After spending some time with them, I came back
home to rest.
I woke up to the sound of my mother getting my sister ready for school. She brought me a
cup of tea. When I drank it and helped her with the chores, I realised the happiness on her
face. After finishing everything, we went out together.
We reunited at the beach. When we reached it, a cool breeze welcomed us, and my mother
held my hand. A gentle wave touched our feet, and she smiled. In the beginning, I wrote
about how busy my life had become. But now, I understand my mother better—she works
day and night just like me, taking care of the home and the children. For us, home feels like
a calm place, but maintaining that calmness is a hard job.
