Violence and greed: The dark side of the Kerala political system.

Kerala is one of the most literate and socially developed states in India. Historically, Kerala has held a prominent place in the sphere of education. The health systems are very good. Peaceful social structures exist even today. The people are highly vigilant in political and public activities. Their participation in elections is very high. That is a cause for increasing democracy in the state. But in a few years, there will be radical changes in the political field.

Now, things such as violence, corruption, selfishness, and sectarianism are seen in the political activities of Kerala. Old political values, social justice, democratic sentiment, and long-standing ideas are destroyed at this time. Often, the political gains are aimed at overcoming the challenge of social good.

The history of Kerala is rich with memories of efforts for social peace, unity, democracy, and equality. However, today, the selfish ambitions of some leaders, power, and neglect of the safety of people have become a threat to the progress of the state's development and peace. The dark side of this political system is disappointing and very unfortunate for the people and will later lead to the rise of insecurity-related issues among the new generation.  

The increase in violence  

Violence is a remarkable issue in the field of politics. The conflicts between party workers and political leaders have become regular occurrences nowadays. Sometimes the difference in behaviour endangers the people. During the time of the election, threats, attacks, and disagreements start occurring in an unpleasant and insecure way.

The student groups in high schools and universities are participating in political conflicts. This creates an impact on young people's political consciousness, social responsibility, and decency. Some people lead terrorist activities.

A few years ago, in the election in Kerala, many political conflicts grew into bloody incidents.

These incidents caused death and major injuries for many people. There were more breakdowns in the safety of people.

Greed and corruption 

Without overcoming the spread of people's greed and selfishness in Kerala politics. Some leaders started to work for their personal gains and interests, delaying the development projects and ignoring the needs of the people.

Corruption, kickbacks, illegal contracts, and the collection of wealth create obstacles to the welfare of the people. The government projects are used for political needs. For example, road construction, education projects, and health projects are being delayed, increasing the possibility of corruption.

Kerala is a state rich in literacy and social consciousness. However, if violence, greed, selfishness, and violations of laws and policies continue in politics, the progress and unity of the society will be affected. If the people and leaders promote the ethics, transparency, and public service, Kerala will maintain its harmony and will be recognised as a stable state.
